Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Kavon (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an educational institution, you represent that you have the authority to bind that institution.

Use of the Service

Kavon is an AI-powered grading and student progress platform. It can be used standalone or with optional integrations such as Google Classroom import.

You may use the Service to:

Create and manage courses and assignments
Optionally import courses from Google Classroom
Create and manage grading rubrics
Generate AI-assisted feedback drafts
Review, edit, and publish grades
Generate student progress reports
Access analytics about grading activity

AI Assistance Disclaimer

You, the teacher, remain the final decision-maker for all grades and feedback. Kavon provides AI-generated suggestions intended for your review and modification.

AI-generated feedback may contain errors or biases
You are responsible for reviewing all AI suggestions before publishing
Kavon does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content
Final grades reflect your professional judgment, not Kavon's

Data Responsibilities

Authorization: Ensure you have proper authorization to process student data.
Compliance: Comply with applicable laws (FERPA, COPPA, etc.).
Account Security: Maintain credential confidentiality.
Accurate Information: Provide accurate account information.

Prohibited Use

Unlawful use or violation of applicable laws
Unauthorized access attempts
Interference with Service integrity
Processing data without authorization
Reverse engineering or code extraction
Sharing account credentials
Discriminatory or biased assessment use
Unauthorized resale or redistribution

Service Availability

Kavon is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, accuracy of AI-generated content, or compatibility with all configurations.

Termination

You may terminate your account at any time. Upon termination, your data will be deleted per our retention policy. We reserve the right to suspend access for terms violations.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kavon shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including damages resulting from reliance on AI-generated content. Total liability shall not exceed amounts paid in the preceding twelve months, or $100, whichever is greater.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify you of significant changes with at least 30 days notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes shall be resolved in San Francisco County courts.
