Terms of Service

Acceptance

By using Kavon (“the Service”), you agree to these terms. If you use it for a school, you confirm you can bind that school.

What the Service is for

Kavon is for grading and student progress. It works on its own or with optional imports such as Google Classroom.

You may:

  • Create and manage courses and assignments
  • Optionally import from Google Classroom
  • Create and manage rubrics
  • Get AI-drafted comments
  • Review, edit, and publish grades
  • Generate progress reports
  • See grading activity

AI is a draft

You remain the decision-maker for every grade and comment. Kavon suggests. You publish.

  • AI comments can be wrong or biased
  • You must review before publishing
  • Kavon does not guarantee AI accuracy
  • Final grades are your professional judgment, not Kavon’s

Your data duties

  • Authorization You must be allowed to process student data.
  • Law Comply with applicable law (FERPA, COPPA, GDPR, and others that apply).
  • Account Keep credentials confidential.
  • Accuracy Keep account information accurate.

You may not

  • Use the Service unlawfully
  • Try to access what you should not
  • Interfere with the Service
  • Process data without authorization
  • Reverse-engineer the product
  • Share login credentials
  • Use it for discriminatory grading
  • Resell or redistribute without permission

Availability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted uptime, perfect AI, or compatibility with every setup.

Ending the account

You may close your account at any time. Data is then deleted under the retention policy. We may suspend access for breach of these terms.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Kavon is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including from relying on AI drafts. Total liability is capped at what you paid in the previous twelve months, or $100, whichever is greater.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes get at least 30 days’ notice. Using the Service after that is acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes are heard in the courts of San Francisco County.
